2015 Nissan Frontier: Reliable Midsize Truck to Rely on

Although not many changes happening to 2015 Nissan Frontier, there are still some tweaks and improvements that are designed to improve comfort and functionality. As before, the Frontier has been a good midsize pickup ride because of its good quality, comfy interior cabin, and also powerful V6 engine. It may not be a surprise that the truck has this solid and good offroad ability with more modern touch and feel. The interior is nicer and functionality is definitely enhanced.

The Good Things
As it was mentioned before, the new variant is promising several new things. First of all, this midsize truck is certainly fun and nice to drive around – whether you have to tame the offroad wilderness or you have to cruise the smooth urban roads for commuting. Second, the V6 engine is promising and reliable. You can be sure that you are able to go through almost anything with this engine option. Third, the added interior controls are very simple and easy for usage. You only need to press this and that; you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to operate the controls.

The Flaws
However, you can’t really expect complete perfection with this 2015 Nissan Frontier. There are some possible flaws that you may not like. The rear seats aren’t exactly model example for comfort and convenience; not to mention that the legroom is pretty tight and cramped. Another flaw is that the ride isn’t very good and promising when used on paved roads. Some of the interior materials are somewhat cheap and rather cheesy, as Nissan can definitely do something better with it.

About the New Ride
You can certainly expect something new and better for this Frontier. Some improvements are made for certain trims. Standard features like navigation system or Mobile Apps interface are available for most of the lines. Nissan has expanded its NissanConnect interface, so you can now enjoy hand free mobile phone activities, Bluetooth audio connection, smartphone apps integration, and others. it may seems like a small change, but most Frontier hardcore fans understand how technological features are important for the added comfort and usage of a midsize truck. The interior cabin is packed with features and control, but too bad that Nissan doesn’t do anything to really change the ambiance and atmosphere. If you understand Frontier’s original design, everything will start feeling old and wear off. If only Nissan could think of something to deliver punchier and more modern setting into the design, everything will be more interesting and appealing.

Handle and Control
Yes, the ride is still responsive and very easy to control, but you will start noticing that the pedal brake isn’t as firm as you expect from a new ride and the steering is slow. But you have to admit that Frontier is still good for offroad ability; its solid stance is somewhat nice and promising. As usual, the control is easy and you can fight off difficult corners easily.

Power and Ability
This Frontier comes with two different engines for different trims. The Extended Cab S and SV are running on four cylinder engine with 2.5 liter capacity, delivering 152 hp of power. When paired up with standard manual five speed transmission and rear wheel driving system (or the optional auto five speed transmission), the outcome is nice and smooth. Fuel economy system is around 19 city for the city and 23 mpg for the highway. Too bad the four cylinder engine doesn’t come with four wheel driving option. The King Cab model, as well as optional for SV, are running on powerful V6 engine with 4.0 liter capacity, delivering 261 hp of power. They are coming with standard manual six speed transmission or the optional auto five speed one. The fuel economy system is 16 mpg for the city and 21 mpg for the highway. In SL and Desert Runner, only automatic transmission is used. The ride is able to reach 60 mph within 8.2 seconds.

The Frontier is offered only in King Cab model, or also known as the extended cab. For this line, you can enjoy spacious cargo bed, folded down rear seats, 60:40 folding ratio on the rear bench, and so many more. If you don’t really mind the old school design, this 2015 Nissan Frontier is a tough ride to include in your list. Read Also : 2015 Toyota Tacoma.
