The Deal about European Car Parts

European car parts means that these parts are often included in the production of European rides. As you are well aware of, American or Asian rides have different specifications and arrangements, and the same thing also applies to European cars. Each continent has their own preference and like, and most of them have their own key signature that makes them different from the others. for example, American rides are known as the muscle specifications, while European cars are mostly known for their elegance, exclusivity, and timeless designs.

European Car Parts

The Drivetrain
Most people think that drivetrain, driveline, or powertrain is just the same, while they are different in basic principle and usage. Drivetrain is about the system connecting the engine to the wheels, making it possible for the vehicles to move, so it covers axles, driveshaft, wheels, and also transmission. Drivetrain’s functionality is to channel out the power from the engine to the wheels through the transmission. Transmission is responsible in making the engine runs, no matter what gear it is or how fast or slow it is. So there are basic differences between:
  • Powertrain, everything that makes the car moves, which involves engine to transmission, or transmission to other parts of the wheel
  • Drivetrain, parts of motorized rides connecting engine and transmission to wheel axles
  • Driveline, everything from the engine (after the transmission) to the vehicle’s drive wheels.
The Exhaust System
European products really focus on the exhaust system, making sure that all the wastes are removed efficiently from the ride. As the name suggests, exhaust system involves removal proves of the combustion products and waste gas from the engine, so the car can function and operate efficiently with minimal pollution, smoke, or noise. If you want the ride to operate well and comes with clean condition, you need to pay attention to this aspect. If you don’t want your car’s mileage to be compromised, make sure that it functions properly. Exhaust system generally consists of:
  • Exhaust manifold, generally consists of cast iron, aluminum, or stainless steel unit connecting the engine’s cylinders and gathering the exhaust gas from the combustion
  • Mufflers, whose function to dampen the noise from the gas and combustion. Without the mufflers, drivers and passengers will be distracted by the annoying sound.
  • Catalytic converter, whose function to make the ignition gas’ process complete and prevents nitrogen dioxide and carbon monoxide to escape
  • Tailpipe, where the gas escapes from the vehicles, though steel or stainless steel tubes. Modern tailpipes are able to reduce the numbers of pollutants escaped to the environment
Cooling System
As the name suggests, the cooling system is responsible in cooling down the engine. You see, an engine will produce loads of heat when running and the cooling system is responsible to cool it off so damages to the engine can be avoided. Water is generally mixed with antifreeze – as the coolant liquid – through cooling passages to prevent the engine being overheated.

Conclusion
Those are the main parts that are important for the structure. Of course there are still other European car parts that you can learn about if you really want to know about the vehicle.
