Reasons to Tint the Car
Here are some common reasons why people want their car windows tinted.
•    It improves their driving comfort. With some shade, the sun won’t shine directly onto your face. Not only it is annoying, it is also dangerous. So if you want to avoid glare from different sources, tinting your window will be the best option.
•    It delivers better privacy. With tinted window, you can expect better privacy – especially in some shady parts of town. It also protects your valuables when you are away.
•    It provides better protection for your upholstery. Extreme heat can wreak havoc to your upholstery and you can expect them to have short life expectancy. With tinted windows, you can prolong their lives, so they will be longer lasting.
•    It proofs shatter. In case accident happens, the tint will avoid shatters, which are good for your own safety.
•    It keeps everything cool, in terms that your interior cabin won’t experience extreme heat. Even during summers, you can reduce the heat up to 60%
•    It keeps you healthier. The UV light from the sunray isn’t good for the skin, which can increase the possibility of early aging, as well as skin cancer. By tinting the windows, you can prevent such thing from happening.

Different Types
There are several different types for the film tint, such as:
•    Coating tint. Special solution – generally in spray – will be applied to the windows. It lasts longer than film tinting.
•    OEM glass. It is packed into glass making process, so the tinted glass is within the window glass. As long as your glass lasts, the tinted glass will last as well. Aside from the fact that it is more expensive, there is a specific regulation about the mild shade.
•    Film tint. This is the most popular method where thin polymer film is attached to the already treated window glass. It is inexpensive, but requires replacement at least once within 5 years.

DIY or Professional Help
Some people consider about doing their own DIY work with the film tint. However, if you are not accustomed to do the work, it is better to hire a professional. You may have to spend extra, but you will be spending more if you are making mistakes in the process.

Handy Tips
If you consider doing this work on your own, choose a very clean or sterile environment that is dust free. Try to choose a spot that is quite cool – with temperature in between 40 and 98F. If it is possible, ask someone to help you. The automotive window tinting will be much easier if it is done by two people.
